  • Isla Zapatilla

    Half Day

    A short boat ride takes you to two uninhabited islands emerging from the surrounding coral reef. Experience pristine sandy beaches, clear turquoise water, and abundant fish activity within the National Marine Park. This trip can be customised to include relaxing on the beach, snorkelling from the shore, or at one of our popular snorkelling sites.

  • Salt Creek

    2 hours

    One of the most exciting and important aspects of Casa Cayuco’s eco-experience is getting to know the people and customs of Salt Creek, our neighboring Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous village. Salt Creek is home to all our employees and their families. It’s a very special place and the most integral part of our mission. Included with every stay is a short guided tour and boat transfer through Salt Creek’s mangrove channel.

  • Mangrove Snorkeling

    Half Day

    Witness a healthy reef filled with beautiful soft corals and sponges up close. This colorful underwater garden is home to a variety of sea creatures including octopus, jellyfish, crabs, sea cucumbers, and several species of star fish. This magical place is only 25 minutes from our dock, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for pods of dolphins along the way!

  • Botanical Chocolate Farm Tour

    Half Day

    Hike through beautiful botanic gardens while finding out how organic chocolate is made in a sustainable manner. You will get to learn all about the chocolate making process, local flora and fauna, and get the opportunity to taste various delicacies straight from the garden. Finish your visit with a hydrating cup of chocolate iced tea while perusing the range of tasty chocolate products available for sale.

  • Nidori Beach

    Full Day

    A one-hour boat ride will take you to the remote village of Ensenada on the Peninsula of Punta Valiente. After a short hike to the windward side of the island, you will arrive at the pristine beach known as Nidori, where the surf is excellent for surfers of any skill level. Relax on the white sand beach, visit the local village, swim among the waves, or play soccer with the locals. These are just a few of the activities this excursion has to offer.

  • Bat Cave Tour

    Half Day

    Your adventure begins at Bahia Honda, a remote village near the centre of Bastimentos National Marine Park. Our guide will take you on a boat ride up a small creek via cayuco, followed by a one-kilometre hike through the jungle to reach the caves. Enter the extensive cave system using a headlamp to find your way, and marvel at thousands of bats who call this area home.

  • Monkey Island

    2 Hours

    Spend an afternoon visiting a unique and remote mangrove, home to the Monkey Island Foundation. Monkey Island is dedicated to the ongoing preservation and rehabilitation of local Capuchin monkeys, actively working to rehabilitate sick monkeys and remove monkeys from captivity. The project founder, Francine, will lead you through an educational tour; during which you will be able to handle, learn about and feed social, friendly, healthy monkeys.

    Accommodations at Casa Cayuco are handcrafted with fallen jungle wood, blending seamlessly with nature. Nestled in the jungle, perched among trees, in the main lodge, or overlooking the water, each unique open-air bungalow offers a fully immersive experience.

    Casa Cayuco offers seven spacious accommodations sleep between two to six people. Each one offers a slightly different experience, being either nestled in the jungle, up in the trees, adjoined to our main lodge, or overlooking the water. All rooms are designed in an open-air style, giving you the sense of being outside.

    Casa Cayuco believes in the power of ecotourism to make a positive impact on local communities. The team carefully sources the lodge’s food, harvests its water from the rain and powers the resort with solar energy, to minimize its footprint. Casa Cayuco has a special relationship with the nearby Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous village that exemplifies its partnership with community. Every stay helps us to support ongoing projects within the village of Salt Creek.
